Elder Abuse Complaint Filed

We have received several tips that a resident at the Marquette House Assisted Living in Westland was punched by the executive director and was kept without essential medication for at least several days earlier this month.A concerned person reached out to the Westland Gazette and says there was some concerned employees about the handling of the patient in the days after the incident. Family members were finally notified days later and were able to convince staff to get him to a hospital. We reached out to relatives who confirm the story and say that their loved one is currently in serious condition. Employees of the Marquette House have confirmed that the executive director no longer works there but would not say why. A complaint has been filed at the State level. It is unclear whether the former executive director will be able to continue working with the elderly, or if she has already found employment with another facility.
