Recipients will receive a (16-20 lb) turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes & gravy, sweet potatoes, corn, green beans, cranberry sauce and rolls for a family of 6 -8 people. The meal is completely free for all local veterans and active duty families in Westland & Wayne. All you need to do is register by Wednesday, December 9th at noon and its as easy as calling in a reservation to a restaurant. Applications must be submitted by noon on Wednesday, December 9th, 2020. Veterans and/or families can pick up their meal on Saturday, December 12th, 2020 between 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Wayne Ford Civic League located at 1661 N. Wayne Road in Westland. Monetary donations will also be accepted to support this great cause moving forward. Checks can be made payable to “the Wayne-Ford Civic League” and an online donation form will also be shared on the Westland Gazette Facebook Page as well as the Wayne-Ford Civic League Page.

The City’s of Westland and Wayne recognize that many military families are separated during the Holidays due to deployments. The Holiday Meal Program for Veterans and their families is a way of saying thank you for their service and sacrifices made on behalf of our country!
