This Wednesday, November 25th is the opening night for the annual Wayne County Light Fest. From 6:30-8pm, all cars will enter the show free of charge. After 8pm, the regular fee of $5 per car goes into effect and spectators can continue to enjoy the show each week from Wednesday-Sunday in the evenings.
Families can enter the 4.5-mile holiday light spectacle at the Merriman Rd entrance to Hines Park. This year there will be new displays, as well as 45 other animated themed displays and custom displays from Bronner’s of Frankenmuth. Lightfest is the largest drive through light show in the Midwest as Hines Drive provides a unique winter wonderland experience that is hard to replicate. More than 250,000 cars visit the light fest in normal years, however that number is expected to rise this year due to covid restrictions changing the way we celebrate holidays.
Unfortunately many special events such as the Santa Shelter, Toy Night Tuesdays, Lightfest run, and Bike Through the Lights events will not take place for the 2020 event.
