Andrew was a police officer for over 25 years. He worked in both Wayne and Westland over his career, but more notably in Westland where he was known as one of the city’s first officers. He worked as the Deputy Mayor in Westland under two different mayors and as a court officer for over 10 years. Over the years he was on the School Board, Senior Board, Planning Commission, and Wayne-Westland Credit Union Board.
Andrew J. Spisak Jr. was born on December 13, 1934 in Garden City, Michigan to the late Andrew Sr. and Agnes Spisak. He passed away on November 25, 2022 at the age of 87 in Garden City, Michigan.
Andrew married Lee Gorrell on July 8, 1967. They shared over 55 years of love and laughter. Together they shared five children: Tammy, Rick, Teresa, Andrea, and Tony.

Much of his life revolved around his community, and it was very apparent how much he loved it. Andrew worked all of his life, retiring a few times just to come right back. He was lucky enough to have multiple retirement parties because of this! Andrew was in the band Radio Gang as their singer and MC, they played often for the senior community. He loved his grandkids more than anything and everyone knew it.
Andrew was well-known in the community for his overwhelming presence and his willingness to help anyone he could. Everyone was lucky to know him, but his family was the luckiest of all to have his love and support. He touched many people’s hearts with his kindness and care.
He was loved deeply by his family, friends, and the entire Wayne-Westland community and he will be dearly missed.
Andrew is survived by loving wife, Lee Spisak, daughter, Tammy (Dean) Perusse, son, Rick (Tracy) Gowan, daughter, Teresa (Steve) Pynn, daughter, Andrea (Dan) Mohr, son, Tony (Amy) Spisak, eight grandsons, Anthony Joshua, Andre Jacob, Austin Jackson, Andrew, Austin Gunnar, Richard, Tyler, and Zach, two granddaughters, Andrea Jade and Brandice. He is preceded in death by his four siblings.
